DUBLIN, Ohio | July 20, 2012 — Scott Dring, executive director of the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau, will serve as the Honorary Race Director of the 2012 Emerald City Half and Quarter Marathon.
The race, in its third year, will attract a record field of more than 3,000 runners and walkers when it is held on Sunday, August 26. The half marathon (13.1 miles) and quarter marathon (6.55 miles) will begin and end at Dublin Methodist Hospital.
“We founded the Emerald City Half in 2010 with the goal of building an event that would attract both Central Ohio runners and walkers and those from out-of-town town to Dublin, Ohio” race director David Babner said. “We are honored to have Scott serve as the Honorary Race Director in 2012 and to continue our partnerships with the Dublin CVB, the City of Dublin and the Healthy Dublin initiative.”
The Emerald City Half and Quarter Marathon received the “Living The Irish Attitude Award” in 2011 from the Dublin Convention & Visitors Bureau for being a local event that “embraces Dublin's destination brand and slogan: “Dublin, Ohio — Irish is an Attitude.”
The Emerald City Half and Quarter Marathon is produced by M3S Sports, a sports marketing firm that is dedicated to promoting a healthy active lifestyle. M3S Sports also produces the Flying Feather Four Miler, an event that attracts 3,500 runners and walkers each Thanksgiving Day in Dublin, Ohio, and the Capital City Half Marathon, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2013.
